We all want to be good, don't we?
Whether you're a human or a dog, it's always nice to feel appreciated and encouraged for doing something well. We're excited to share with you 5 ways that you can encourage positive behaviour in your dog!
1. Praise them when they do something right!
Your dog wants to please you and make you happy, so let them know when they've succeeded! Try saying "good boy/girl" or "well done" when they do something well. A pat on the head or a treat is always nice too.
2. Catch them being good!
If your dog is already behaving well and doing what they're supposed to, reward them by taking notice of it! This helps reinforce the behaviour so that it becomes a habit for them.
3. Make sure there are no distractions around when training your dog
Distractions can lead to bad habits forming and being difficult to break later on down the line, so make sure there are no other animals around when training your canine companion—just focus on each other!
4. Give them plenty of attention!
Dogs are social animals who crave affection and attention from their owners. Whether it's petting them or playing fetch with them outside, make sure you're giving your pup plenty of love throughout the day so they feel confident in their relationship with humans!
5. Play games with your dog
